Library Teen Councils and Teen Lounges throughout metro area

Multnomah County

Youth (grades 6 -12) interested in becoming more involved with their local library can participate in Teen Councils, located at most of Multco’s library branches. This would be a good way to explore what it is like to serve on a council as they are generally pretty small. This could be a jumping off point for other larger advisory boards. Multnomah County library branches with teen councils are:

Each council decides what they are going to focus on. Some examples of projects they have taken on are collaborating with radio station KBOO, hosting dramatic Mystery in the Library nights, organizing Pokeman freeplay sessions, and providing book recommendations.  Find a Teen Council meeting on the library’s events calendar.  If you don’t want to commit to regular council meetings, you can also drop in at the Teen Lounge to use the internet, do homework and hang out with other teens.
