If you are enjoying this cold snap and also love science, have I got a program for you! Apply now to be one of 5 US students selected to spend 3 weeks studying in Greenland this summer with the Joint Science Education Project. Yep. Greenland. Students will meet with peers from Denmark and Greenland and scientists from those same countries to participate in a variety of research projects. Students and teachers will work alongside scientists on research projects in a wide variety of fields including biology, geology, climatology, chemistry, and engineering. A blog and journal of last year’s program can be found online.

Students must be in 10th or 11th grade at the time of application. Completed applications are due January 31, 2014. Students will need 2 letter of recommendation, including one from a STEM teacher. More information, including the application, is available at: http://www.arcus.org/jsep.
