High School Internships with Pixel Arts

Youth who want to learn about mentoring and gain valuable work experience while helping other young people people might take a look at the Pixel Arts high school internship program.

About Pixel Arts

To get started, visit their website and learn more about Pixelarts. They bring inspiring classes to libraries and community gathering spaces. Pixel Arts focuses on young people’s natural affinity for games–board games and video games alike, and teaches them how to be game creators instead of just consumers.

About the internships

From a recent newsletter (sign up!):

We seek interns who would like to learn mentoring and become great event producers, program managers, curriculum developers, and site coordinators.

We seek practicums who wish to become professionals in community development, finance, media and marketing, and program management.

Paid positions are available for eligible youth through IRCO and through grants. Do your service learning or graduation volunteer project with Pixel Arts to get 1st-hand experience working with professionals in game development, technology, science, and the arts.

Interested volunteers start by filling out a volunteer interest form. You will be contacted within about a week.

Airway Science for Kids Teen Flight Program 2014

I loved flying when I was a kid. My dad was a hobby pilot and I would have taken this course if it had been around when I was a teenager.

Classes meet weekly, on Saturdays, at Hillsboro Airport.
